  1. DeskOfficer: Police department front desk. You've reached DeskOfficer, the department's automated assistant. How can I help?
  2. Caller: Hi, yeah. I was in a car accident last week, and I need a copy of the report.
  3. DeskOfficer: I can help with that. Do you have the report number?
  4. Caller: Um, no. The officer gave me a card, but I can't find it.
  5. DeskOfficer: That's fine. The date and location will do. When and where was it?
  6. Caller: Last Tuesday, on Main Street. Near the bank— actually, it was Main and Fifth.
  7. DeskOfficer: Got it, last Tuesday at Main and Fifth. Copies of reports come from our Records office, online or at their window.
  8. Caller: Okay. So I have to come in?
  9. DeskOfficer: No need. I'll text you the request link, the hours, and what to bring if you go in.
  10. Caller: Great. That works. Thanks.

IACP 2026 · Booth 504

Meet Charlie.

Last year, Charlie walked the floor at IACP. This year he’s back as the always-on front desk. Come say hello at Booth 504.

The handoff

It knows which calls aren’t its to take.

When a call needs judgment, discretion or authority, DeskOfficer brings in a person and briefs them first. The caller never starts over.

  1. CallerI want to make a complaint about one of your officers. He was rude to me at a traffic stop this morning.
  2. DeskOfficerI’m sorry that happened. Complaints about staff go to a shift supervisor, and I’ll connect you to one now.
  3. CallerAm I going to have to explain all of it again?
  4. DeskOfficerNo. I’ll pass along what you’ve told me. Is the number you’re calling from the best way to reach you?
  5. CallerYes, that’s fine.
  6. DeskOfficerThank you. I’m connecting you with the shift supervisor now.Agency rule: complaints about staff always go to a person

DeskOfficerBriefing → Shift supervisor

Handed to the shift supervisor, fully briefed

  • Wants to make a complaint about an officer’s conduct.
  • Traffic stop this morning; says the officer was rude.
  • Asked not to have to repeat the account.
  • Callback number on file, confirmed by the caller.

Arrives before the call connects. The full transcript is attached.

Built to handle the work around the call, not just the conversation.

One system behind every call: it answers in a natural voice, routes by your rules, answers only from knowledge your staff approve, shows you what callers need, and fits the systems you already run.

Hi! I'm DeskOfficer. How can I help you today?
(775) 555-01420:05
Hi, I need to request a copy of a police report from last month.
0:07DeskOfficer AI
I can help with that. Can I get your name and the approximate date?
(775) 555-01420:12
Sarah Mendez. Around the 14th — a vehicle break-in on Oak Avenue.
0:15DeskOfficer AI
Got it, Sarah. I've found a matching report. I'll send the request form to your email.
(775) 555-01420:19
Perfect, thank you. Can I also get the officer's name on the report?
0:22DeskOfficer AI
That's included in the report. Officer R. Torres, Badge #4821.

Your answers. Your routing. Your rules.

DeskOfficer works from a rule sheet your agency writes and approves: what it may answer, who gets which calls, and what it must never do. Change a rule and the next call follows it.

  • Answers only from knowledge your staff approve. If it isn’t there, it routes.
  • Every call type is reviewed with your team before it goes live.
  • Every call is recorded, transcribed and searchable under your retention policy.

Small, reviewed, and reversible.

  1. Week 0

    A briefing, not a pitch

We look at your call demand together, including what AI should not handle at your agency.

  2. Weeks 1–3

One line, built with your staff

Your people supply the answers and the routing. You approve every call type before a caller hears it.

  3. Day 30

    Live on that line

Every call recorded and reviewable from the first day. Staff can take any call back at any time.

  4. After that

    Expand on evidence

Transcripts show which calls repeat and where callers get stuck. You decide what DeskOfficer takes on next, and can hand any call type back to staff with one setting.

Your calls are your agency’s data.

Built for law enforcement’s requirements, and specific about what that means.

Read the security detail
  • U.S.-only infrastructureAgency data is stored and processed on U.S. infrastructure. No offshore routing.
  • No training on your callsAgency calls are never used to train shared models or shared with other customers.
  • Your agency sets access and retentionPermissions, retention periods and data boundaries are set by your agency.
  • SOC 2 Type II in progressA third-party SOC 2 Type II audit is underway. It is not yet complete.

Questions chiefs ask before deploying anything.

What kinds of calls can DeskOfficer handle?

Non-emergency and administrative calls: records requests, jail information, report follow-ups, courts, front desk, 311, the mayor’s office and similar lines. Your agency decides exactly which calls DeskOfficer handles and which stay with your people.

Does DeskOfficer replace dispatchers or agency staff?

No. It takes on repetitive calls and routes the rest. Your staff stay responsible for anything that needs judgment, discretion, empathy, authority or an emergency response.

Can DeskOfficer recognize an emergency?

DeskOfficer is not an emergency line and not a replacement for trained emergency call takers. If a caller describes an emergency, it follows your agency’s escalation rules and transfers the call straight to your emergency destination, with context attached.

How does DeskOfficer protect agency data?

Your agency sets access, retention, approved knowledge, tool permissions and when a person must approve. Data stays on U.S. infrastructure, encrypted in transit and at rest, and is never used to train shared models. Activity is logged for review. Our SOC 2 Type II audit is in progress.

How quickly can an agency start?

Agencies are typically live in 30 days, once the phone line, call flow, approved knowledge and access are ready. The full timeline depends on your security, legal, procurement, telephony and operational reviews.

Does DeskOfficer integrate with CAD, RMS or JMS?

It can connect to CAD, RMS, JMS, telephony, messaging, forms and other agency systems. Integrations usually come after the workflow has proven itself and your agency has set the permissions and controls it needs.

More questions
What happens when DeskOfficer can’t answer a question?

It transfers the caller to the right person, with the caller’s reason for calling, the details already collected and the conversation so far. The caller doesn’t have to start over.

What happens after a call is transferred?

DeskOfficer can stay on the line and analyze the conversation your staff handle. That shows the agency which answers, policies and processes come up most, where knowledge is missing, and what could be automated later.

Does DeskOfficer analyze human-handled calls too?

Yes. It can analyze both AI-handled and staff-handled calls, so you can see hold times, transfers, talk time, voicemail outcomes, resolution, caller sentiment, knowledge gaps and coaching opportunities.

How does DeskOfficer get better over time?

It spots repeated questions, common workflows and the answers your staff give. It then recommends new approved knowledge, routing rules, training improvements and automation opportunities. Your agency decides what is reviewed, approved and deployed.

Do we need to commit to a large platform up front?

No. Most agencies start with one phone line, measure how it performs and expand only when the evidence supports it. We help you decide what AI should handle, what should stay with people and what can wait.

What languages does DeskOfficer support?

More than 90. Callers are served in their own language, and your staff get summaries and records in the agency’s preferred language.

Before you let AI start answering your calls, call us.

We’ll help you see what’s possible, what’s practical and what’s right for your agency, even if the answer is not more AI.
